without a doubt this department is the most fun to play in. paint, glue, crafts galore!! its like a giant arts and crafts class everyday in the props department!

here we are playing in the lighting department. so many cool toys to play with including laptops!! and of course, say hi to daddy!

double dark

ok for those of you who aren't in the theatre biz you're probably wondering what a double dark is. . .
a dark day, traditionally, in theatre is a day off. a double dark is two days off in a row. we often get one double dark in each city. this city we're blessed with 2! this is the first of the 2.
instead of spending our first day enjoying the sun we actually went to work and hauled the 2 skins off to the laundermaut. we managed too, barely, fit the skins in a triple load machine. 1 skin per machine and man, we had to fight to get them in! then we took the newly cleaned skins (first time in a year we might add) back to work and hung them in the air. for those who've not seen our show these skins are huge! then encompass the entire back half of the set. the are approx 60' in height and 80' wide. not an easy task climbing the masts and hanging soaking wet skins but we succeeded!
now we're home and getting ready for our run. actually, we guess, procrastinating as its an 8mile run. and well, we want to run but whew. . 8 miles! which is probably a small feat as we're getting ready for a 26 mile marathon! we're nuts!!! the marathon we're running is in napa valley. it starts in calistoga and we're staying at a lovely in with mineral water pools!

and as a result of working today instead of losing our double dark we're actually gaining an additional day on weds so we end up with 2.5days off.

alright, time to stop procrastinating and get our buns in gear!

december in san francisco

a lot has happened in this past month. our flying act has been cut out of the show temporarily as things get fixed. we're all a little sad and missing it very much, techs and artists alike.
we've learned a new track! we're now running rig 3!!! but alas, without a flying act there is little rigging in the track. . but i do get to toss a big bottle of bug spray at an artist!

we've signed up for a marathon in march and have started our training for it. farthest we've run so far is 6miles. . . pretty impressive. to test ourselves this past sunday we just ran a 5k race! we finished in 30mins. . 5 min less than our personal best.

winter, here in san francisco is amazing. warm. ok, not super sunny hawaii warm, but still not below zero cold! the temparature has yet to get less than 3 degrees out here which is wonderful! it may not be shorts weather (although a few days have been close!) but we've not needed our winter booties

christmas was warm, sunny and no snow! we had a great day. slept in, ate chocolate and skyped our boyfriend. we made him chase around the house looking for post its until he found he his present. a macbook pro! he was super suprised and happy. and we got a game for our ds that has a ton of games!! sooo sooo many games on one disk! and then we had a friend come over and play video games all day long! a 14hr marathon of games!!

our boyfriend has just left for korea to teach english. he's enjoying it alright despite jet lag and the chaoticness of their lack of organizing. . . lol

and thats about it! we're running daily and getting ready for our marathon! can't wait!!
2010 is just around the corner and we'll hit a year with cirque! time for a fancy jacket!
